Meet at the Tree Nursery As part of Environment Week, Skanska corporate volunteers will be carrying out environmental work on Hackney Marsh and in Wick Woodland, in conjunction with HMUG, TMs and Hackney Parks Dept. We shall be clearing climbing vegetation around trees in Kingfisher Wood that is enclosing and pulling down the lower branches of young trees. We shall also be thinning out oak trees in Jubilee Wood to give the remaining ones more space to grow. The oaks removed will be replanted in pots and looked after at the Tree Nursery, ready for planting out in Hackney's parks in the winter. See attached map for the locations of Kingfisher and Jubilee Woods. The work in Wick Woodland will be carried out with heavy plant - so we shall not be involved in that. All are welcome. Children must be accompanied.
