About me

Jessie is a curator, educator, film producer and events programmer within the arts and non-profit sectors. She has been involved in film education for many years, co-founded the London International Documentary Festival in 2007 (www.lidf.co.uk) and set up the eco-events agency Green Sundays (www.greensundays.org.uk) in 2008.

Having done an MA in Sociology and Art History at Glasgow University Jessie was interested in the power of documentary film in movements for social justice and change. She set up the charity Starfish (www.starfishglasgow.com) running film-training courses for disadvantaged young people in Glasgow and later moved to London to work in film production, exhibition and events.
The projects Jessie has developed and the partners she’s worked with as a freelancer all share the aim of bringing understanding and awareness of social and environmental issues to as wide an audience as possible and of harnessing the potential of media and the arts to change society.
Jessie is a director of the new social enterprise Limina (www.limina.co.uk) which is building and supporting a network of organisations and individuals working towards a sustainable future. As part of the Limina project she is a project manager with the Quadrangle Trust, owners of a converted Victorian farmstead in Kent where they are working towards the development of a centre for ecological and creative education.
